Founder of apaleo
Ulrich „Uli“ Pillau is an entrepreneur and angel investor. He is founder of apaleo, a Munich based start-up developing a next generation cloud platform for the hospitality industry. Previously Uli was involved in building up several very successful software companies in the hotel and travel space. His companies included Fidelio Software, today the worldwide leading Property Management System for hotel chains and hotels. Fidelio was later acquired by Micros and today is part of Oracle. Subsequently he was leading IDeaS, a company offering the first scientific revenue management software for the hotel industry which quickly became the standard Yield & RMS system for hotels around the globe. In 2010, IDeaS was sold to SAS Institute and today is actively managing over a Million hotel rooms with its software.
CEO & Co-Founder Optimand
Giuseppe is an experienced hospitality consultant specialising in revenue management and operational systems implementation. Strong wealth of the industry knowledge combined with innovative approach inspired Giuseppe to co-found Optimand. London based, tech start-up which provides business intelligence and data analytics to luxury hotels across Europe and US. Customer centric approach drove every aspect of Giuseppe’s professional focus from the very start of his career at the world’s leading resort Forte Village. Giuseppe continues building on his achievements whilst providing one of the most advanced systems to personalise web offerings in hospitality.
Director at Infor Hospitality Nordics
Kim Spolén is the director Infor Hospitality Nordics and has a background of working at several of Stockholm’s leading hotels for a total of 20 years, among them Sheraton Hotel, Strand Hotel and the Sergel Plaza Hotel and has also been a consultant during the opening of, among others, a 5-star hotel in Prague. He has wide experience of working with PMS, Channel and Rate Management and is also a frequent speaker on how to work with and optimise social media strategy in hospitality business. Before joining Infor, Kim worked for Hoist Group.
Regional Sales Executive EMEA at IDeaS - A SAS COMPANY
Ortensia is an experienced hospitality professional with more than 10 years of practice. After graduating International Law and French Language and Translation, she has found a real passion for the hospitality industry where she has had the opportunity and pleasure to further develop her skills: from Reservations and Meetings and Events to Revenue management and Sales and Marketing. During her hospitality journey, Ortensia understood the need that the industry had for innovation and automation, therefore she has decided to join IDeaS in 2016 and further help hoteliers with their Revenue Management and Meetings & Events Strategy. All of these with a single goal in mind: show revenue uplift and increase profitability for her clients.
With a background in Engineering Physics and Software Development, Simon might be a bit of a strange bird in the hospitality industry. His big passion is how technology can be used to make life easier and more enjoyable for everyone, and the hospitality industry is the perfect industry for exercising this interest. For the last ten years Simon has organically grown Loopon, starting from his university dormitory, to now being the leading provider of guest feedback solutions in the Nordics. When not running Loopon, you are likely to find Simon on a snowboard or behind the control stick of an airplane or getting nerdy with some programming challenge.
Hannu Vahokoski has worked in business development in both sales & marketing as well as consulting role for over 20 years. Hannu is specialized in understanding consumer behaviour, service design, and customer experience. He is familiar with Shopper marketing since working for Leaf sweets company. Hannu has worked in hospitality business for the past 10 years, where he started with Otrum the TV-systems and was in charge of global hotel chains in Europe. Hannu got an idea for a new type of service for hotels two years ago, when he noticed digitalisation was still far from the daily life of the industry. - The Hotelway was born. ”My passion is to get things rolling without ”hick ups”- and provide more for the customer at the same time”, Hannu.
Henry’s professional background is split into two parts. 10 years in a restaurant industry - culminating as a restaurateur at Restaurant Postres - and another 10 years as an alcohol importer of which 6 years in leadership roles at the Servaali Oy. Henry loves restaurant business passionately and wants to create applications and tools to solve restaurateurs every day challenges. The mission of Book&Order is to change the restaurant business globally and break the old way of purchasing restaurant services only onsite at the restaurant. Sales Manager, Nordics at D-EDGE
Anna is responsible for growing D-EDGE's business in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Iceland. Her mission is to help hotels in the Nordics manage their online distribution. Anna Israelsson describes herself as a hotelier with a true passion for technology. After kicking off her career at D-EDGE as an Account Manager, Anna then evolved within the hospitality industry as a Hotel Manager in a brand new property in Paris, where she realized the impact of technology on hotel performance and success.
Founder Nordic Revenue Forum
The founder of Nordic Revenue Forum Finland Hanna Lak is one the leading revenue management experts in Finland. Previous to starting her own company HMMH Consulting in 2009 she was the director of revenue management development for Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Since then she has coached, trained and consulted independent hotel owners and hotel chains creating value for their customers and owners through improved processes and profits.
Manager, Research, BI, MI & Opportunities
Katarina Wakonen joined Visit Finland in 2011. She started her career in travel business in the Research and Development department. Since 2014 she has been Research Manager for the Business Intelligence services at Business Finland’s Visit Finland unit. Her educational background is in social sciences. Katarina has a versatile experience in the private sector, ranging from international market research to media business and travel industry. She is enthusiastic about finding new ways to collaborate with tourism industry and partners. She values international co-operation between analytical colleagues. Finland’s tourism has been booming in the past couple of years, which has nourished the demand for better data management. Katarina enjoys working in cross sectoral teams, facing challenges and finding the solutions.
Erik is a hotel technology specialist, originally from Australia, but now based in the UK and is the Chief Commercial Officer for Lybra.tech - the intelligent revenue assistant. Erik leverages his deep experience with property management systems, online distribution technology and revenue management analytics to provide his clients and partners with valuable insights and advice to help grow a hotel business in a more efficient manner.
Fabian is the founder of Infinito, a technology company dedicated to improving the work-life balance of hotel managers through IVI, a personal revenue management assistant. His career spans work in over 25 countries in executive roles across technology and hotel companies. Fabian sits on the HSMAI Advisory Board and is recognized as a future focused thought leader in the pricing and revenue management space. Fabian is an advisor to multiple start ups in the tech space.
Founder Atomize AB
Leif is the founder of Atomize and is Executive Chairman of the Board. Before starting Atomize he spent 12 years in the ad-tech industry where he founded Admeta, an automatic revenue management system for online publishers. Admeta managed 30 billion adviews every month and never lost a benchmark, not even to Googles competing product. In 2014 Admeta was aquire by WideOrbit Inc and in 2016 Leif founded Atomize.
Client Relations Manager at Benchmarking Alliance
Henrik has a long background within the hotel industry, mainly from Revenue Management, distribution and in-house sales at Radisson Hotels in Stockholm and Gothenburg. Henrik has solid experience from Revenue Management within Meeting & Events. The latest position Henrik held was as Revenue Manager in the newly opened Stockholm Waterfront Hotel & Congress Centre where he built and managed the Revenue- and in house sales departments. Since 2014 Henrik is responsible for customer relations in Benchmarking Alliance with focus on the conference benchmarking product.
